About the event
The Greatest Of Ease is a new memoir and roman à clef by Teri Bayus that gives readers a fascinating, detailed view of circus life circa 1980. Featuring an untethered girl who becomes a mother on the road while befriending primarily elephants, this self-exploration and on-the-road living occur before cell phones, emails, or the Internet, thus providing a feel of what it is like to be utterly alone and yet surrounded. It is also a sneak peek into the circus culture and way of life that has vanished.
Tidbits infiltrate the novel like kangaroo boxing, why you should be afraid of clowns, and what it is like to live with elephants, tigers, and monkeys.
Book signings will include circus food, Circus stories, reading from the book, and books for sale signed by the author.
